Agility Camp #1

It was so exciting to finally be back to agility for the summer. Marja was able to join me for a mother's day outing which made it twice as fun. Charm was ready to go.

The trainer was able to work with Charm and I before starting on some issues Charm had been having and we made HUGE progress towards addressing her fears, and I ended the day with a much more confident dog. Her fears turned out to be just an attitude problem...which I now have the tools to address. Then it was on to jumps! Over the poles...

And through the tire...

Then Charm's least favorite thing, the see saw...it's pretty scary when that thing moves but she got lots of calming massages

One of the search and rescue dogs worked with her all morning, though she was tired after a late night of search and rescue.

Hitting the tunnels was a breeze...

And she zipped right through the closed tunnel...

Then it was some table practice and some long down stays...

On to the dog walk...

Happy to be back working again.

Working the A-Frame...

That's my girl!

Over the "bone" jump...

"Good Job! Charm!"

We had a nice lunch break and Charm was wondering if I packed her a picnic. But it was for Marja and I, Charm got dog treats.

But she got a better reward, a walk down the winding nature trails and a swim in the creek.

She even spotted a black bear!

The sun came out and it was back for an afternoon of work.

And lots of praise.

And treats.

When training was done, Charm was introduced to Fly Ball. First she had to have the ball launcher explained to her...press here to release the ball.

Catch the ball...

And jump over the jumps.

Charm liked the Fly Ball part the best. She had a good time and so did we and we can't wait until the next day camp!

We were off to pick up Domino at his doggy playdate where he was having fun romping with kids and dogs...so everyone was very worn out at the end of the day. Thanks Marja for being a patient photographer...hope we can do it again soon.
